The Low Tide Sweater is designed by Rachel Illsley from Unwind Knitwear. Please note that our kit does not include the pattern. You can purchase Rachel's pattern via Ravelry or Payhip.

Low Tide is worked top down, mostly in the round with a saddle shoulder and a compound raglan armscye. It has a beautiful eyelet lace and cable pattern running down the front and back, with a smaller version of the motif along the sleeves. The design represents ripples of sand, tiny rivulets of water, and scattered pebbles and shells left on the beach as the tide goes out. That’s the lovely, evocative image that Rachel paints with her description.

Yarn Characteristics

Weight: Sport: 150m per 50g /164yds per 50g

Blend: 90% Falklands Corriedale / 10% Mulberry Silk

Falklands Corriedale: This fibre has a good long staple length, is smooth with a hint of lustre and oodles of bounce. The breed is derived from a cross of the Merino sheep and Lincoln Longwool.

Mulberry Silk: This fibre is produced by the Bombyx silk moth. It has the lowest micron count of any natural fibre making it incredibly soft and extremely lustrous. When added to a blend it gives the fibre a phenomenal drape, durability and shine.
