Our Story

We founded Artisan Fibres as a mother daughter team, known for the Fruity Knitting YouTubeChannel . After years of interviewing designers, farmers, and spinning mills worldwide, we partnered with John Arbon Textiles to create our own range of exquisite, lightly heathered yarns.

The colours of our Fruity Knitting Sport range are inspired by our beautiful home, Australia. From the shimmering opals of Coober Pedy to the tranquil waters of a billabong, and the vivid hues of native plants, birds, and cherished childhood memories. Each shade shines on its own, yet blends beautifully with the others.

The blend of 90% Falklands Corriedale and 10% silk, spun in four plies, makes Fruity Knitting Sport a soft, smooth yarn with lovely stitch definition and drape.

The Spinning Mill

Based in North Devon, UK, John Arbon Textiles is the independent micro business that spins our yarns with care and skill. They operate one of the few remaining worsted spinning mills in the country, combining traditional craft with a hands-on approach to create yarns of character and quality.

The mill uses vintage machinery, carefully restored and maintained, to bring fibres to life. Fibres are sourced thoughtfully. Local fibres from across the UK support regional farmers, while trusted suppliers in the Falklands and around the world provide exotic fibres, all meeting high standards of quality and sustainability.

Every step, from raw fleece to finished yarn, is handled with attention and respect. This slow, considered process results in yarns with depth, warmth, and character. They inspire knitters, weavers, and crocheters to create pieces full of personality and soul.
